On Thursday, May 16, the ENAC Saint-Yan center welcomed 5 former airline pilot students for a day of reunion and discovery of the current campus, at the initiative of Georges Vallette, former head of the center: Isabelle GUILLARD (EPL 84), Boeing 777 captain, Béatrice VIALLE (EPL 81), Boeing 777 captain, Marie-Laure THEPENIER (EPL 85), pilot-instructor, Véronique TOROMANOFF (EPL 80), Airbus 380 captain, and Christine DEBOUZY (EPL 79), President of AFFP.

Saint-Yan welcomed its first class of airline pilot students in 1959. The ENAC entrance exam was opened to women in 1973, thanks to Claude Pompidou's influence with her husband, President of the Republic at the time.

" Patricia Haffner was unable to join us for the day. She was the first woman to pass the competitive examination in 1974. Qualified in 1978, she joined Air France and became the 1st woman captain and instructor on the A-380. Her father, Jacques Brezun, was a UTA captain. Her mother took an aerobatics course on the Stampe here in 1953. Amaury, his son, qualified at Saint-Yan in 2007," continues the former center chief.
