Appointment - Jean-Baptiste Djebbari will co-lead and structure a new fund dedicated to decarbonization.
Jean-Baptiste Djebbari was appointed Managing Partner of Groupe Magellim on 29 March 2023. As part of his duties, he will co-develop the infrastructure business of Groupe Magellim, a global and integrated investment player.
Jean-Baptiste Djebbari will co-lead and structure a new fund, which will contribute to the decarbonisation of various sectors, in particular transport infrastructure, and which is due to be launched in the coming months.
Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, 41, has been chairman of the board of Hopium since May 2022. Hopium is a French manufacturer of high-end hydrogen-powered vehicles, listed on the Paris stock exchange and founded in 2019 by former racing driver Olivier Lombard.
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile), he began his professional career as a civil servant in civil aviation before becoming a pilot. From January 2014 to October 2015, he was Innovation Manager at the DGAC (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile), before taking over the management of flight operations of the Luxembourg business aviation company Jetfly between October 2016 and 2017.
Also a judicial expert at the Paris Court of Appeal on matters of aviation accidentology and the fight against illegal employment between December 2015 and September 2017, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari then embarked on a political career. After sitting in the National Assembly as a deputy for Haute-Vienne, he was indeed appointed Secretary of State for Transport and then became Minister Delegate in charge of Transport in the Edouard Philippe and Jean Castex governments from September 2019 to May 2022.
