The Conférence des Grandes Écoles is a non-profit association of engineering schools, management schools and higher education institutions offering other specialities. All the Grandes Écoles are recognised by the State and offer a nationally-certified degree upon completion of five years of post-Baccalaureate study, at Master's level. Its members also include companies, alumni associations and organisations.

The CGE accredits its members' educational programmes (post-master Master's, MSc, BADGE) and uses its quality label as a guarantee that these programmes meet the expectations of the labour market and to promote the development and influence of all forms of higher education and research institutions both in France and abroad with a view towards excellence, in partnership with the public authorities, economic players and civil society.

The post-master Master's (MS) is a (registered) collective label owned by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles. It was created in 1983 to respond to demand from French companies who wanted to recruit graduates with skills in specialised fields. It guarantees the course's vocational focus, rigour and technical nature. It allows students to develop their strengths and is a springboard for their professional career.

A quality label acclaimed but under the threat of "fake masters"
The continued success of the MS pushes the CGE to accredit every year new quality training. Since the creation of the label in 1987, more than 100,000 MS degrees have been issued. MS Certification is granted after validation by the dedicated committee that decides on the quality of the training program, its implementation and adequacy of the program with the market expectations.
Their recognition has aroused many theft, both by some training institutions but also by so-called graduates. CGE has recognized the importance of assisting in the identification of actually accredited trainings and real students who have completed their training by an Advanced Master degree.
MSalumni, a reference directory for MS graduates 
To meet these expectations coming from potential candidates for this training as well as from  businesses and graduates - CGE has developed the MSalumni directory . It allows companies to check the actual validity of an MS degree and identify skills. Accessible on www.cge.asso.fr MSalumni will grow gradually with the names of graduates who expressly indicated their willingness to be included in it.
