Hello Andes! Our newest chapter is born!

We are excited to announce the creation of our new chapter: ENAC Alumni Andes. The chapter is chaired by Karen Camarena (MS AM 2019), Airport Consultant at AECOM in Perú.

Many ENAC Alumni have professional or personal ties to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Perú, and this new Chapter aspires to cultivate them. Thus, the Andes Chapter will bring together the ENAC community in those countries in order to promote the exchange and friendship between the members, and mentor the students who aim to study at ENAC or stay in the Andes region for an academic exchange or an internship. It will also provide assistance to our alumni who are seeking jobs in the region, among other activities that support and positively influence the goals of ENAC Alumni.

Furthermore, the Andes Chapter will offer to its members the opportunity to share their experience and thoughts through aviation roundtables in partnership with the ENAC Alumni Think Tanks, and specific involvements with professional events in the region. Other initiatives and programs are in discussion.

Chair Karen Camarena already has plans for the coming weeks: "Our first project will be the participation of our chapter to The Future of Airports with the coordination of an Andes focus group as part of Phase 2 of this research initiative. Also, we will attend the Technical Forum ALACPA 2020 organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Airfield Pavements (ALACPA)."

Nos complace anunciar la creación de nuestro nuevo capítulo: ENAC Alumni Andes. El capítulo está liderado por Karen Camarena (MS AM 2019), Consultor Aeroportuario en AECOM, Perú.

Muchos exalumnos ENAC tienen vínculos profesionales o personales con Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú, que este Capítulo aspira a cultivar. Además, el Capítulo Andes unirá a la comunidad ENAC en estos países para promover el intercambio y amistad entre los miembros, ser mentores para los alumnos que desean estudiar en la ENAC o pasar un tiempo en la región para un intercambio o pasantías, apoyar a los exalumnos que buscan trabajar en la región, entre otras actividades que aportan e influencian positivamente los objetivos de ENAC Alumni.

El Capítulo Andes ofrecerá a sus miembros la oportunidad de compartir sus experiencias y opiniones a través de mesas de diálogo en colaboración con los ‘Think Tanks’ de ENAC Alumni, y de participar en eventos profesionales de la región, además de otras iniciativas y programas están en discusión.

El primer proyecto de nuestro nuevo capítulo será la participación en la Fase 2 de la investigación ‘The Future of Airports’ en coordinación con el grupo focal regional. Asimismo, los miembros asistirán al Foro Técnico ALACPA 2020, organizado por la Asociación Latino Americana y Caribeña de Pavimentos Aeroportuarios (ALACPA).
