"Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles"  March 16 - March 31

It was on may the 30th that the email was received on the new Couz-zelles account: “we are glad to confirm you that you are pre registered to take part in the original 28^th edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles du Maroc.”

Few words that launched the adventure! And what an adventure, started few weeks ago through some posts on Facebook between two cousins who had almost lost touch with each other and who shared the same dream: face a new challenge, far away from every day tasks, on a traditionally masculine playground.

This rally, 100% feminine is very well known, thanks to the large media coverage. But since its inception, this competition shows a new vision of the motor sports due to its values: solidarity with the host country people through the actions of the Rallye’s non-profit, Cœur de Gazelles‘ Medicaid, environmental commitment (iso 14001 certification rally), 2500 km old fashioned navigation completely off-road, pushing one’s own limits.

But before facing Morocco desert, we have to build our project: create an association, meet people to collect funds, plan a training program, attend to navigation and off-road driving courses, and enhance our mechanics knowledge, as many steps that are part of the adventure!

If some sponsors are already supporting us, the cousin team can’t rely on their own firms to provide the money still missing to complete the registration : one works for administration services and the other one for a non profit association Children Rescue! Imagination will be needed to reach the goal!  

As said Mr Antoine de St Exupery, “the real travel is not to travel across desert or cover large submarine distance but to reach the exceptional point when the internal life contours are immersed in the moment appeal” and in regard to this point, trying to reach the dream is an escape in itself.
