On June 26, at the 3AF Annual General Meeting in Paris, Mr. Hervé Austruy, Chairman of the Awards and Grades Committee, had the pleasure of presenting the ten Awards of the Class of 2024.
Among these awards, the Thesis Prize honors a young doctor who has obtained, within the last two years, a thesis of excellence in Aeronautics, Space or Defense, having enabled a significant scientific breakthrough opening the way to applications.
Pierre DIEUMEGARD, IENAC 16 and ENAC doctoral student, receives the thesis prize for his work on the design and optimization of low-noise flight procedures for rotary-wing aircraft, in particular helicopters. He completed his CIFRE thesis under a cooperation agreement between Airbus Helicopter and the ENAC research laboratory.
This fascinating subject is highly topical, as it contributes to a major environmental issue: the reduction of noise pollution from helicopters. This work has led to the development of a specific software solution.
This thesis has already found direct operational applications with substantial potential benefits for local communities.
Congratulations on this achievement!
