Aeronautical film archives

Frédéric ROLLAND presents his favorite subject: aeronautical film archives.
During this conference he will present the content of the different sources available and will give the instructions for viewing these films, especially on the Internet. The period covered starts in the 30's with gliding and training for the aeronautical information certificate until the 80's with ballooning, air shows, airport and runway construction, air meetings or parachuting in Biscarosse...
This overview will be the occasion to see extracts of some pearls relating to aviation contained in these archives.

This conference is organized in partnership with the Mission Mémoire de l'Aviation Civile, the "Ile de France" group of the 3AF, ENAC Alumni and the association "anciens aérodromes".

Frédéric Rolland, PhD in cinema and audiovisual, is responsible for the central film library of public education at the direction of university libraries of Sorbonne Nouvelle. He is also very active in the associative field. He presides over the Atelier du 7ème art, a network located in Burgundy dedicated to the valorization of private collections of film in silver format. He is a member of "Anciens aérodromes" in charge of audiovisuals and of the agency of liaison between film collectors (ALICC). He is a member of the French film library. He was involved in the classification and digitization of the archives of the technical service of civil aviation.
